Right IT Services was founded in 2013, but its story starts decades earlier, with a founder who has spent his career combining technology, teaching and visual communication.
The right content, for the right time, for the right people.
Right IT Services Ltd is a Birmingham-based UK digital signage company, trading since 2013. We supply screens, design the content that plays on them, run the software that manages them and help clients turn them into a source of advertising revenue.
We started when digital signage was barely visible in the UK and only a handful of companies offered it. Since then we have served more than 2,000 business clients, from independent takeaways to international hotel groups, through five specialist brands.
Most suppliers specialise in hardware or content. We combine deep hardware, networking and software knowledge with real content-design skill, so clients get one partner from first enquiry to ongoing management.
1985 to today
First computer
Mazhar Elahi begins working with computers, programming in BASIC and COBOL on an early IBM PC.
Teaching technology
Teaches at a private computer training institute. Students include Air Force engineers at an Aeronautical Complex and senior civil administration officials.
Hardware and presentations
Freelance hardware repair, networking and technical design, alongside custom dynamic presentations.
A national broadcast
Produces the presentation for a national internet launch ceremony, inaugurated by a Prime Minister and shown across 120 cities at once.
Field projects
A decade on UNICEF-funded and government programmes, deploying hardware, setting up computer labs and training staff in remote, mountainous regions.
England and a discovery
Relocates to England and teaches ICT at a primary school. At the Bett Show, a stand supplying screens to schools sparks an interest in digital signage.
Right IT Services is founded
The company opens in Birmingham, when very few UK businesses offered digital signage and awareness was low.
Traction
Independent takeaways and restaurants adopt digital menu boards, still a speciality today. Late in the year we win our first major client.
Growth
More than 2,000 business clients across hospitality, food service, retail, education and corporate, and a family of five specialist brands.
Looking forward
CleverPosters goes international, new websites launch across the group, an AI receptionist joins the team and screen monetisation becomes a core focus.
Mazhar Elahi
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
Mazhar Elahi is the founder and director of Right IT Services Ltd and a digital signage consultant with more than 30 years in technology. His career has taken him from teaching computing to Air Force engineers, to producing a national internet launch broadcast across 120 cities, to a decade deploying hardware and training staff on UNICEF-funded and government programmes in remote regions.
After moving to England and teaching ICT, he discovered digital signage at the Bett Show and founded Right IT Services the following year.
His particular strength is combining deep technical knowledge with a lifelong passion for content design and animation. That pairing is the foundation of how the group works: finding the right content, for the right time, for the right people.
